AUSTIN, TX – Girling Health Care of Tulsa was honored with the Quality Achievement Award at the Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality's award ceremony held recently in Oklahoma City. The Quality Achievement Award was presented to home care agencies that reduced their hospitalizations by at least 30 percent and reached an improvement goal in another clinical area.

"Reducing hospitalizations has always been a top priority," Scott Herman, president of Girling's Home Health Division, said. "We are always striving to provide the highest quality care to our patients."

Awards were based on goals of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Home Health Quality Initiative, which established reducing the number of preventable acute care hospitalizations among home care patients as a national priority. Quality measures are reported to the public for use in evaluating home health care services on www.medicare.gov/Hhcompare.
