Harden Healthcare Employees Band Together to Raise $10,500 for the Family Eldercare Summer Fan Drive

AUSTIN, TX –

Harden Healthcare employees from throughout the company united to donate $10,500, including 46 fans and three air-conditioning units to the 18th annual Family Eldercare Summer Fan Drive. The Summer Fan Drive helps to provide the elderly and those with disabilities in 12 counties in Texas the means to be cool and safe during the hottest months of the year.

“The Fan Drive was a cause that hit close to home for us,” Lew Little, CEO of Harden Healthcare, said. “I was truly impressed at the energy and motivation our employees put into this drive to help those in need in our communities.”

Several divisions of Harden Healthcare, including Girling Health Care, TRISUN Healthcare, Lighthouse Hospice and Harden Services, MBS Rehab, enlisted their own creative ways to raise money. Fundraising activities included bake sales, breakfast taco sales, Coke float sales, banana split day and a trip raffle. Each location was represented by a Team Captain(s) who led the efforts at their facilities.

KGSR’s Fan Fare Friday was held on June 20th at Threadgill’s restaurant in downtown Austin. The station broadcast live outside Threadgill’s and invited the public to drop off fans or funds for the fan drive.

“I believe Harden was so successful in raising money for this great effort because the employees were truly engaged and believed in the cause,” Jason Earle, director of community relations for Harden Healthcare, said. “Caring for people is a part of our everyday work lives and we felt the Fan Drive was a great way to extend that care into the community we represent.”
