Using Physician Orders

How Doc Script Works:

  1. Accessing DocScript.com
    1. Go to www.docscript.com. You may have a DocScript.com icon on your desktop or in favorites of your Internet browser.
    2. Click on the Sign Orders button located on this web page, click on the button and you will be forwarded to the DocScript login screen.
    3. Enter user name and password (these are case sensitive).
    4. Click on the Login button or press enter.
    5. If you are using DocScript.com for the first time ensure you change your sign on password. Refer to section X for procedures.
  2. Enter Orders
    1. From the main menu click on the Enter Orders button.
    2. Select your patient and click on the Enter Order button.
    3. Complete the Enter Patients Order form.
    4. Click on the Submit button.
    5. Order successfully entered will appear in red.
  3. Reading and Signing Orders
    1. From the main menu click on the Outstanding Orders button.
    2. When prompted enter your password again.
    3. Click on the patient name to read the order/485 for that patient. If an Annotation exists, a blue link will appear at the bottom of the 485. Click on the date to read.
    4. Use the print option from your Internet browser if you want a printed copy of the order/485/Annotation.
    5. Click on the Approve button to electronically sign the document.
    6. The order will be removed from the Outstanding list and the next order in the list will display.
    7. After reading and printing the documents you have the ability to sign multiple orders. Click on check all on the Order list page, this will place a checkmark in the box next to the patient name. Click on the Approved Checked Orders button, all the orders checked are electronically signed.
  4. Patient Information
    1. The patient information button will allow you to select and view data on patients.
    2. Select a Patient from the list by highlighting the name, click on the select patient button.
    3. Click on the appropriate link to view, Assessments, ICD codes, Medications, Certs, Orders, Supplies, Vital Signs and Wound Care Pictures.
  5. Viewing Wound Care Pictures
    1. Click on the Wounds link in the Patient Information menu to view the selected patients wound care pictures.
    2. If wound care pictures have been uploaded to the program a list of dates will display.
    3. Click on the date of the wound picture you want to view.
    4. To enlarge the picture, simply click on the picture. To return to normal view click on the back button in your Internet browser.
  6. Add Care Plan Oversight (CPO)
    DocScript automatically tracks and records time spent reviewing and signing documents on DocScript.com by patient.
    1. To enter a new CPO item (CPO done outside of DocScript.com).
      1. Click on the Add Physician Activity Time button from the main menu.
      2. Choose the patient name from the drop down list.
      3. Select the date of the CPO from the drop down list.
      4. Enter the number of minutes in the box provided next to the reason for the CPO. If you use Other, enter the detail in the box provided.
      5. Click on the Add CPO Time button once you have completed.
      6. Continue to follow the above steps to enter other CPO time.
  7. CPO Report
    1. Click on the Physician Activity Report button button.
    2. A list of months will appear, click on the month you want to view. Or you have the option to select a date range that it not listed.
    3. A list of all CPO time by patient will display.
    4. To view the detail for a patient, click on the patient's name.
    5. Print the CPO report from your Internet browser.
  8. Signing Out
    1. Click on the drop down menu at the top of the Patient Explorer screen, highlight and click on Log Out.
  9. Support

  10. Changing/Creating Passwords
    1. To change your preferences or sign on password within DocScript.com, click on the Setup Button from the main menu.
    2. The Start Up Menu allows you to choose what displays when you first sign in. If you elect to have your orders display upon sign in you will be prompted to verify your password the minute you sign in.
    3. The CPO Minutes allows you to establish the number of minutes that calculate for 485 approval and VO approval.
    4. Click on Save preferences when you have made your changes.
    5. To change your password, enter the New password in the space provided, Tab.
    6. Enter the password again for verification.
    7. Click on Change Password.
    8. Your sign in and verification password for outstanding orders will now be changed.
